Rex’s Voodoo Sauce at Lefty’s Place
Lefty’s offers so much more than pizza
It has taken me way too long to post about Lefty’s Place. I kept getting their Detroit-style pizza and leaving it in the car for too long before I tried it. As a food blogger in Morgantown, I absolutely cannot give fair reviews on to-go orders. If you’re on the go, the hack is getting Lefty’s Tavern style. This style is thin crust, and my preference when it comes to choosing a Lefty’s pizza.
That said, you never order from lefty’s without the fries, I’m tellin’ ya. The fries have this sweet-and-salty secret spice/rub and fried to golden perfection. Paired with their house ranch - WOW - it is something to behold. Did anyone get that seasoning recipe? Sweet fries, you say? Oh- I’m shouting from the rooftop!
If you love the fries at Lefty’s Place, then voodoo wings, fries, and a side of ranch dressing need to be your next order. The voodoo wing sauce has a sweet-vinegary taste that’s more unique than a barbeque sauce. It lets you know you’re eating a classic wing with a twist. Dunking a voodoo wing into the Lefty’s ranch (also an excellent dipping sauce for their signature sweet-and-salty fries), it's chicken wing magic.
The whole combo pairs well and could be locked in as my favorite wing meal, but I still have a lot of work to do: I’ve made a list of wing nights in Morgantown.
