Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake and a Medium Mocha

Original Post - March 29, 2021: I loved the mocha I ordered from Annie’s so much because it’s just like it’s sister restaurant, Apple Annie’s, desserts: super rich and very chocolatey. If sweets aren’t your thing, you might be out after a few sips of this. But if you’re like me, you’re sold hook, line and sinker. I’ll drive 20 mins across town for this decadent morning treat. Granted, paired with a huge cupcake, I might’ve been in a little over my head on sugar content.

Post updated - Visited September 19, 2023: So there’s been a huge update at Annie’s Coffee & Creamery! Its neighbor Marzano’s moved across the street, and Annie’s expanded into that area and beefed up their menu to include breakfast and lunch! Such exciting news. They made their second area’s ambiance like a city cafe, including dark walls and mood lighting, with greenery overhead. Their original layout where you order, features a more natural, cozy look with woods and slate blues and a fireplace. Nonetheless, the food is definitely worth going back for more.

I ordered “the jam” breakfast sandwich with fried egg on a croissant. The pastry hearty and flaky, and the tomato jam adds something to the bite - the bacon seems candied with hints of brown sugar and savory spices I am not advanced enough yet to place.

As for the latte, the pumpkin cinnamon roll actually tastes like pumpkin pie would if you chased it with coffee and sweet cream.
