Holiday Delivery from Brownie House

Forget milk and cookies, Santa is getting Brownie House Brownies by the tree this year. Better yet, you can ship these chocolatey delights straight to the North Pole if you want to.

As I bite into a brownie from Brownie House, I wonder, are these truly brownies?

Or are they some new form of fudge dessert deliciousness with a touch of cake which is what puts them in the “brownie” category? A Brownie House brownie is a signature dessert. You will know you’re getting this brand because the size and rich flavors are so unique and very, very fudgy.

Some of my favorite flavors include the pretzel lover, Raspberry Bliss, and peanut butter perfection brownies. Their monthly specials - which will include blondies at times - are also part of the list of my favorite flavors. December’s featured brownie is “Merry Mint-mas.” Dark chocolate filling mixed with white chocolate chips topped with white and dark chocolate ganache and crushed peppermint.

Along with big flavors, the squares are absolutely huge! One-fourth of a pound each, actually, which means just four puts you at a pound of gourmet brownies. Although the chocolate is imported, the team still keeps local ingredients in mind. The menu includes gluten-free brownies baked with buckwheat from a farm in West Virginia.

When you walk into the Brownie House store at the ground level of the Seneca Center, you will often see staff working at long tables that go far behind the counter icing or decorating one of their original flavors, or perhaps testing out their monthly feature flavors. And every time I see the owners working alongside their staff, Karen and Christian, I am greeted with a warm smile and friendly conversation. It feels like walking into a neighbor’s house - the West Virginia way!

The store offers other desserts as well, including cannolis, different cake rolls, brownie edges, and whoopie pies. Usually, the latter is too cake-based for me and the filling too sweet, but I decided to give Brownie House’s a try. Two huge (of course) brookies, or brownie cookies, stuck together with homemade cream filling. I chose peanut butter filling. The brookies added a nice crunch around the edges with a soft inside, and the peanut butter cream was silky - I wanted more peanut butter but they had just the right amount so it would not get too messy. A decadent whoopie pie? Santa might get one of those on his cookie plate, too.

I believe Brownie House desserts would make the perfect gift for a group you love that lives a little too far away this holiday season. They offer nationwide shipping! Their website states that the brownies are shipped within 48 hours of the order being placed, and advises to place your order during mid-week business hours most likely for optimum freshness. Brownie House brownies are shipped via USPS Priority Mail (2-day), UPS Ground (3-day), or UPS 2-Day Air to ensure that they arrive as quickly as possible. No preservatives are used in the desserts, so they are best kept in the refrigerator or freezer upon arrival, but they can be set on the counter for some time. My favorite way to enjoy is to warm it up for a few seconds in the microwave (or try it with some ice cream).

Here’s the scoop on shipping times before Christmas: The USPS cutoff for guaranteed delivery by Dec 24 is Monday the 18th. However, Brownie House told me they will ship orders placed after the 18th - but can’t guarantee they will arrive by Dec 24.

I think getting a Brownie House delivery any time of year is just right!
